Live Updates in Your Sidebar

As promised (all be it a day late) iSTAT have made available for download the Live Updates Vista Gadget.  For those of you not too familiar with Vista Gadgets they are simply the things that run in the sidebar of vista.  The gadget was created for people who would like to keep an eye on whats happening but rather than spend the length of the match in front of the page they could continue using their computer while the updates were always a glance away.  I have tried this on two seperate PC’s and no problems so far but if you find any let me know at support@istatonline.com . We may consider using colours to grab attention in future releases as the gadget can become quite bland with a huge amount of text.

To save load on our servers we have included a Start Updates button on the gadget.  This will basically check whether the upadtes have started.  If they have not started then you will still see the next fixture info. If they have started then the gadget will autmoatically update just as it does on the website.

iSTAT on Demand

Over the next few weeks iSTAT will be stepping up in its efforts to make news and commentary more accessible.

We have planned the following:

  • iSTAT on Demand – Archived Match Commentary and radio
  • Live Update Vista Gadget – watch the live updates in your vista sidebar
  • Live stream Vista gadget – listen to iSTAT radio from your sidebar
  • All archives of matches will be available to view online
  • The iSTAT e-zine (first edition will be slightly delayed
  • iSTAT radio and Live Updates on google desktop
  • Enhancements for Live Updates including team Lineups

Most if not all of these are near completion.

First up is iSTAT on demand which you will find in the sidebar at the right of the page.  Its still currently in BETA but works well and more matches and radio content will be added over the coming days.  After using it myself I can already see the need for more controls the most important being to stop the audio, so were on the case.

If you encounter any problems using the on demand player please email us at support@istatonline.com stating whoch Operating System and which browser you are using so we can work on a fix.

We are currently putting finish touches to the Live Updates Vista Gadget and this should be available for download tomorrow (2nd July) and will be used first at the Wexford match on the Friday the 3rd all going well.

The iSTAT E-Zine

At the end of this month (June) iSTAT plan to launch their very own fanzine.  The plans are to have an issue now (mid season break) at the end of season and just before kick off for the new season.   In the first edition there will be exclusive interviews with players, including one or two of the new lads.  A look back at the season so far.  News on injuries etc.  Also we will be covering the underage teams in as much detail as possible.  We will have all the stats so far from first half of the season and we will take a look at whats in store for the rest of the term.  Lots of other stuff in there as well.  The E-Zine (as the name implies) will be available only online for the princely sum of 2 Euro payable via Paypal.  A lot of effort has gone into this and we would appreciate your support.  Also tell all your friends about it, its only 2 euro and all money goes towards helping us carry on the work we have been doing.
